Thank you for your interest in being part of the senior team at the new Somerset Council. In April 2023 a new council was created, bringing together the staff and expertise of the existing five councils in Somerset, and creating one of the largest unitary councils in the UK. This provides us with a once in a generation opportunity to transform services. To achieve this, we will need to learn from best practice, develop innovative ways of working, seek out opportunities to collaborate both within our organisation and with the Council’s partners.
As part of the Strategy, Workforce and Localities directorate you will be at the core of the Council’s transformation, leading your services to drive organisational and system change that delivers cost effective, high-quality services in Somerset. You will have a unique position in Somerset Council to shape how our organisation develops over the coming years. We are looking for those individuals with the expertise, drive and tenacity to enable a modern, agile and efficient organisation putting outcomes for residents and communities at the heart of everything we do.
