Kent's vision for the Growth Environment and Transport Directorate is to create the conditions where the potential of our people and our places can be fulfilled. We help our staff develop, grow and achieve their ambitions and we innovate and use new technology to improve how we deliver services to meet future community needs and aspirations.

The design of the Directorate Management Team has been developed to ensure a clear alignment to the Council’s strategic priorities and achieve a better balance across Growth Environment and Transport Director’s responsibilities and resources.

The Corporate Director – Growth, Environment and Transport is a key role within our organisation and pivotal to the growth and development of communities in Kent. As one of six Corporate Directors, you will be integral in leading and driving the delivery of our Interim Strategic Plan. The plan sets out what we want to achieve and is centred around five key challenges; Financial, Economic, Demand, Partnership and Environmental.

We are looking for individuals who will build on this vision and strength of purpose to inspire and lead the strategic focus of the Directorate. To support the role we have created three new Director posts that will report to the Corporate Director. These are:

  • Director of Transportation, which has been filled
  • Director of Growth and Communities: open for application
  • Director of Environment and Waste: open for application.

As a Directorate Management Team you will work together to build the strategic focus. You will be place shapers, directing, planning and securing appropriate and sustainable infrastructure that contributes to our environmental ambitions and promotes wellbeing.
