Cartoon children in Bradford

The new Bradford Children and Families Trust began work in April this year. It’s an ambitious new start for the city and district, which has faced a number of challenges in the provision of services to children and young people in recent years. We’re committed to putting children, young people and their families at the heart of everything we do, to enable them to have the best possible start in life. Our vision is that all children and young people in Bradford are safe and able to realise their full potential.

By taking care to accurately identify the needs of children, young people and families, you’ll play a crucial part in keeping the promise we’re making to our city and district. The key indicator of success will be that we’re providing exactly the right services and support, at just the right time, so that strong safeguarding outcomes can be delivered. With colleagues, you’ll share overall responsibility for delivering our ambitious agenda of service improvement, as well as developing locality-based services that draw on strong partnerships.

Candidates will be qualified social workers and experienced children’s services professionals, with a detailed and wide-ranging understanding of safeguarding, and a track record of managing a variety of scenarios with compassion and visible leadership. You will have particular skills in developing and sustaining strong strategic relationships that advance a common vision of better futures for children and young people. Exceptional leadership skills, underpinned by personal resilience, go without saying; we’re also looking for a positive, collaborative style, and an excellent understanding of how to recruit, develop and retain high-performing teams.
